Hikers, This thread is intended to list the official and latest known unofficial (beta) firmware out there for all 500, G, 800 and DSP products. It would be nice if it became a definitive resource. Please reply to this thread if you have a firmware version more current than listed (with details of what it fixes) or if you discover before me that Meridian has released new firmware. I'll keep this first post updated as often as possible. Comments on the format of this table are most welcome as are details of errors and omissions. Edit: The table is now in the Wiki http://www.meridianunplugged.com/wiki/index.php/FirmwareListRegards, Joel

There can be two official versions - that available on the web and that being shipped in new/serviced units direct from Meridian.
For G9x, 1.81 is also official - that is what is being shipped with new G9x and service returns. Apart from being a bug fix, 1.73 -> 1.81 added an extra HDMI info screen listing data from the EDID. I also feel that it gave better HDMI stability and recovery in error situations. I think the next version will be around 1.86 - 1.89 re HDMax functionality. I believe that it will also address some playability issues with some discs.
DSP33's is as you state 1.07 - for me the biggest change in this was to keep the units powered on rather than revert to standby. I believe this is to fix an issue whereby the speakers were reluctant to come out of standby under some circumstances. It took a while to fathom why the green light on the back stayed bright all the time and this may not please some people knowing that everything is fully powered.
FWIW I don't think it is right to report beta versions unless they are made public by Meridian - that is just my stance and I know others will have a different opinion. Other odd versions can however be spotted by eagle eyes at some dealers.
Meridian owner since 1992 Prime & PSU, Focal Elear headphones, Roon (ROCK 8Gi5 NUC), Explorer 1 & 2, F80. 200/203, various Sonos (via Roon).

I've changed the columns to:
Product Web Site Unofficial Source (e.g. shipping product, beta, hitchhiker, etc.). Summary
I've dropped the "reported by" column as that might be regarded by some as contentious. I'll try and summarize the known fixes in unofficial firmware though, due to space constraints, details will have to remain in the individual posts.

565 Version 6.2a Z3 an Upgrade from 6.0 Z3
For use with 596 DVD player. I think it gives you Comms 1-9 and sorts out Controller issues. I was sent A free Eprom Upgrade for the asking.
Cheers, Chris
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Anybody got an opinion on the 598 V1.89 software ? Does it fix the 'premature' ending of tracks issue with DVD-As ? Havent heard a complete song on DVD-A in ages M

Manus, do your DVD-A songs end prematurely when you've gone to make a cuppa given the lack of decent titles

Thanks donron. The data sheet on the UK web site is three revisions out of date!

Nick, I just got the Talking Heads Brick Box Dualdisc Set and it is so frighteningly good I'm afraid to leave the room! It really is the most interesting thing to happen in Multichannel Hi-Rez in ages !A bands entire studio back catalogue lovingly recreated M

I have a DSP5000C with firmware v4.003. Can anybody tell me what firmware v5.04 adds, and more importantly, how does one update firmware on speakers. Thanks.
Also, my 506, the 18-bit version with the newer transport and serial numbers beginning with 2xxxxx, has software version 1.12.
FYI, there are two firmware versions for the 551. As I recall, they changed an internal part which required an update to the firmware, so if you have a 551 with a different version that 2.4, your firmware may be the latest for your 551. Check with Meridian to be sure.
