Surely if Bluray wins the HD-DVDs will be re-issued on Bluray, though I'm not sure it will happen the other way around. From what I've read, the difference between the entry-level and high-end players is how well they handle up-conversion of SDs not how well they play high-definition discs, so going entry level should not be much, if any, high def compromise. You can buy the discs when the situation becomes better settled. My heart is with HD-DVD, but my mind (such that it is) tells me Bluray will win.
