It might say that but I CONFIRM that when you select the true hd on the matrix reloaded at least you get a 5.1 mix out over the digital. I forget how I have my player setup (bitstream/ other option?) but here is the proof- pardon the camera phone pics.

here it is on default with the dd+ track playing (CII= crystalio II)

here I have selected true HD. you might note my screen is 2.35- but here I have window boxed it- I programmed the crestron to have the CII do a 16x9 conversion for bringing up the HDDVD menu because otherwise its off the screen/ or I would have to move the lens out of the way. the lens is on an automated sled but I prefer to have moving parts move as little as possible.

I would like to share actual pics of the theater but I cannot right now as my installer has submitted it to CEDIA for theater of the year. I have not actually asked them but I would think it would be in poor taste to post them before CEDIA. Its a nice theater- I am sure there are better ones so we will see. When CEDIA is over I will be happy to post pics if you all would like.

So- it seems true HD= an added benefit- it does sound a tad better even if we cant get lossless= another reason the XA1 rocks. Thank you Mark again!!!

best regards,
Jerry
