Just checked Amazon and there were some in stock. Now there is one less You don't mess around Mark . I'd be interested in your feed-back once you have had time to play. In particular, whether or not the image stutter on panned shots, reported on the E1, has been eliminated. Cliff
Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

Mark Nothing in particular, I'm just going on reviews etc which reported some image instability on panned shots with the E1. The latter has to interlace the 1080p signal which may be the cause. This should not be an issue with the EX1, but it would be nice to have it confirmed. Also your general opinion of the EX1's performance. I'm waivering quite badly, so please tell me it has loads of faults etc. Cliff

Wish I'd read that before ordering... am a little concerned about going from 1509kbps DTS to 640kbps DD... Guess I'll find out soon enough whether or not this is an issue.
What I was primarily after were the faster bootup times and disc stability as I have a number of disc issues with the HD-XA1.

Looks like it could be a reasonable player if future firmware updates do in fact fix the video and audio issues. With respect to latter, the lack of bass on the analogue outputs is a concern. (I`m beginning wonder if any manufactures (including M) test their products thoroughly enough to ensure we get all the bass we`re entitled to!)
Video stutter on some discs also still seems to a (minor?) problem. I`m also a bit disappointed that the 1080p output appears to involves an unnecessary interlace-deinterlace step.
I`m tempted, but I think I`ll hold off for a while longer

I leave my HD DVD and BR players on all the time. Boot up problem solved!
Loading discs, the BR player loads discs a little quicker but both are somewhat slow.
It seems to me video quality is the same as before since you are deinterlacing at a 60hz refresh rate, you are not arriving at a true one frame/ next frame even sequence for out put- youre better off with one of these new video processors that take in the 1080i@60hz and deinterlaces it to get the proper frames and can output at 24/48/72.
I am running my projector now at 48hz and you guys are right- I cant go back to 60hz. It looks unnatural- the 48hz has some judder as movies are shot at only 24fps and this is too slow for absolutely fluid motion IMHO- but at 48hz the results are really smooth and very film like.
It seems to me this might be an opportunity to get a 1st gen player if prices are down on them and you can live with longer boot times...
best regards, Jerry

On the XA2/XE1 front, I guess with no imminent Meridian HDMI input and a Lumagen Radiance on the way, I'll be sticking with my Milky Bar XA1 for a little while. Funds probably better spent on a PS3, though I am intrigued to see how the new LG fares.
