Jerryl, You have it exactly.

People buy flatscreen tvs for one main reason.
They take up less space and look a whole lot better when switched off.

Period, thats it.

The reason they bought DVD was thats there was no need to rewind it as with VHS, and pause looked better.

You have to try realy hard to not buy a HD ready TV now as thats all there is available.

This does not mean the buyers will ever subscribe to a HD service.

My TV looks great on SD TV and DVD. People comment on how good it is.

HD programing is too expensive in the UK when you think that spare monies will be much better used paying off your morgage.

I for one was born at night, but it wasn't Last Night!!!
