Well, I guess the discussion here has spurred me. I decided there is no time like the present and I am pulling the trigger on a Kscape. Just felt that I should say so given the position I took.

best regards,
Jerry

When you are sick of your Kscape, I'll trade you for a MacMini and the new FrontRow wink

Has anybody tried a dejitter device like the Monarchy DIP between a SB and their processor? It's a whole lot cheaper than a Big Ben or Bolder mod. -- more in line w/the cost of a SB. I used to own one and it worked really well.

I haven't A/B'd my 598 vs. an SB yet, but will soon. I also have a Red Wine Audio modded SB for analog output -- it sounds much better than stock, in the ballpark of my significantly more expensive Cary CD player, and was bought instead of a traditional CD player.

Even if you own a 1000+ CDs, if you can transfer your hundred most listened to over the course of a year, I think a streaming device makes a ton of sense and can replace a CD player in 99% of the applications out there. The handwriting is on the wall for disc players.

Since you jump the gun, could you report back on it. I am seriously considering the Kscape too. I will probably get it early next year - - after CES.

I will be happy to report on it. For me it was simply the best way to make sense of the mess of DVDs we have. My guess is I will get it in a few weeks and full implementation will be about 8 weeks away. Btw- there is a KScape Owners Forum- like how this site is not really affiliated to M, the same thing there- but the guys from K do read it and sometimes post:
