With dipole planars for the main speakers, the sound of a dynamic woofer has very different sound from it. So in order to minimize that difference in sound, the crossover is set as low as feasable, pretty much to the point where the sound is starting to be felt more than heard. With the mains going down to 34hz (although very limited in dynamic range), 50-60 was a reasonable compromise.
