Hi Jose,

I think you make a slight confusion here. Upsampling has a slightly different meaning when using analogue outputs. On the balanced analogue (XLR) outputs you ALWAYS get a Digital to Analogue converted signal based on a 176.4kHz digital signal upsampled to this rate before conversion. You cannot turn off upsampling for the analogue outputs, it's an internal process intimately related with filtering and other signal processing before the DACs.

On the digital outputs (coax and optical) the upsampling will be 88.2kHz unless you explicitly choose not to upsample - on digital outputs only! - by correspondingly typing your G08.
Digital signal processing is different for a fully digital signal path!

I will first quote from the G07/08 user manual - intro, page 2, right column, under G08 24 Bit Upsampling CD Player:

"Once the digital data stream has been recovered from the disc, powerful on-board Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with the capability of an impressive 150 MIPS (million instructions per second) upsamples the digital information from the 44.1kHz, 16-bit signal of conventional CD to 24 bits, and to a sample rate of 176.4kHz for digital to analogue conversion to drive the analogue outputs, and 88.2kHz for the digital outputs."

Then, on page 14, you will find typing info:

"Type Description
Type 1 Volume display off.
Type 2 Volume display on.
Type 3 (G08 only) Volume display off, digital output limited to
44.1kHz."

So, you can only limit DIGITAL output to 44.1kHz, it normally goes out at 88.2kHz.

Analogue output (e.g. on XLR) is obviously an ANALOGUE signal, obtained by converting a digital signal after upsampling it 4x to 176.4kHz.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Dorian
