That doesn't seem very fair. Reading the post through, those with a "problem" stress that it's discernable within a few inches of the speaker but not farther away. One of the principal complainants finally parked it as "quibbling to the point of irrelevance".
Rod, I've no idea what the problem is but if you hear it from 9 feet away, I'd sugest it's not just a characterisitic of the Bel Canto.
