It's the Bristol Hi-fi show next weekend and tradition has it that one Bob Stuart will lead the the first Meridian demo on Saturday morning (10.00am if I remember from last year). They seem to be promoting the new 3100s and the the Faroudja projectors but who knows what they'll actually demo...

I hope to be there - are any other hikers likely to make it?

There is another tradition to meet in the bar at lunchtime if beer is more appealing to you than Bob.

see you next week, maybe

regards

Chris

Chris,

I went last year (on Friday) and indeed, Bob Stuart led the demo and was also available for a nice chat afterwards!

I will be going again this year on Friday 24/02/06 and hope to see anyone else from this forum.

I am going Friday and it would be good to meet anyone from this forum. By the way Steve(inatthe beginning), I bought a few Patricia Barber CD's after hearing the demo on your system, they just don't sound quite as good. Must be those cables!

Simon

If anyone is thinking of going especially for the Sky HD demo, don't bother. They aren't showing anything, saying anything or indeed doing anything that shows HD in a positive way.

Nice retro demo by the boys from Huntingdon - or indeed being more specific - THE MAN from Huntingdon himself.

It wasn't until I saw a demo from Sim that something that Bob earlier said sunk in. Meridian/Faroudja seemed to have made the experience of going to the movies available in your front room a (expensive) possibility. A bit like what they achieved with the experience of going to a concert in your front room.

Ian - the Pioneer room and Fujitsu stand had the best Hi Def showings which were miles better than the poor Sky HD...

So the SIM demo "wasn't quite there"?
