I presume that the Bios has been corrupted on our machines and needs to be either replaced or accessed via a Meridian Technician to fix it and not a simple job as upgradeing firmware ???

Guys,

Please don't go yelling at Meridian or your dealers or we may never see public downloads again.

Those having trouble, I can almost guarantee it's recoverable.

Meridian software hates my laptop because it polls through all the COM ports and hits the blue tooth ones sometimes and chokes. My firmware load died half way through. DVD player was dead with no display (this was not Meridians fault it was my being lazy and using the laptop I know it doesn't like). I recovered no problem at all and have many times before and was confident it would.

I moved to a more stable Desktop PC and restarted. All it does is ask you to manually toggle power when it attemps the download and I believe on powerup it regains communication and everything is fine. If you have a less than clean PC your problems may persist. But your Meridian Equipment does not have to go back to factory or anything.

Also as far as the setup.exe program from Meridian goes, it is pretty dumb and will download every single thing off their site by default. I always unselect everything and only select what I know I want.

Mnyb,

I would rename C:\Program Files\Meridian to C:\Program Files\Meridian.old and rerun setup.exe and tell it to reinstall if it asks.

When running setup.exe uncheck the stuff you don't need so it doesn't take so long to download.

Slightly worrying: If anyone noticed in the release notes -

Disabled picture positioning support. This has been necessary to make room for other enhancements.
Make room for other enhancements - looks like something (core memory maybe?) is running low on available resources.

Unfortunately i do not have a desktop PC that has a serial port so i have only been useing my laptop so i will take it to my dealership as i was still getting " DVI Error 2 " before trying to load any firware updates so i would rather they look at the unit anyway smile
