i'd think hard about throwing good money (and if we all know Meridian like we all know Meridian, it'll be GOOD money!) at this sort of upgrade.
for similar bucks you might be able to get a dedicated outboard video processor (Lumagen, DVDO, et. al.) that'll likely do a better job (now and over time) than anything hardwired or coded into the G98.
just one boy's opinion, worth well less than you paid for it.
doody.

At last year's Munich High End show (May 2005) Meridian had a 1080p G91 with firmware version 1.86.

Could be a long wait then ;-)
But seriously, they will hopefully introduce the firmware upgrade along the in the introduction of the G91A.

It wont be a long wait!! I have version 2.02 loaded in my G98DH now and it has 1080p. In a couple of weeks time 2.07 will be avaliable on the M site which has even more features than 2.02. Cheers, Stephen.

As I now have a Sony 1080p projector I can hardly wait. Meridian USA says it's still in the Beta stage.

2008? JK if everything was released only when it is rock solid then nothing would have ever been released in G-space beside Amps, Preamps. I don't think this is the reason.
New features release should be independent from bug fixes and you should even try both at the same time, you likely to have more bugs to fix...

There is a dealer in the UK who said he has successfully installed this on 15 customers G98s.
