yes - good point; but if that's they way it turned out - they would know that by now and could simply say it's not going to realistically happen; My thinking is that M- is in a position to know more about this issue than any other company by far - so at a minimum they should be the first to committ to it's feasibility or not;

However, I believe that you are being quite unrealistic with your expectatons.

Of that I have no doubt, - forever doomed to be disappointed I fear...

Why? Because you can't know the amount of processing required without knowing the specifics of the codec. They do have a tremendous advantage when it comes to Dolby TrueHD, but with DTS-HD they're pretty level on the playing field.

True - can't know the precise amount; but M- knows more than enough to bound it; and if it's too close to call, architect for more to be added later; after all, the G- series was introduced because of this problem with preceeding models in first place;

I just don't see a good way for M- to squirm out of not seeing this coming; by having an obsolete processor due to digital formats only 3 years into the line - not given the depth of knowledge, reputation and marketing position of upgradeability, designe against obsolescence and pricing structure; They already went through a recent battle with the market on this regarding the G- series introduction; to have this happen again, so soon would be hurtful to M- market share I believe;

Again - to your point, my expectations are probably unrealistic for my own good --- perhaps I'll be forced to lower them --- But for now, I'm still expecting M- to come through with a good solution based on superior forethought, design and technical awareness; We should know sometime this year I suppose.....
