None of the Meridian processors can handle a 7.1 input at this time -- the multi-channel analog inputs only have 6 channels of A/D conversion. Without A/D conversion you can't process the additional two channels of analog input.

It's going to be a while before you have any 8 channel content coming out of Hollywood anyway as they have to retool for 7.1 and this requires a complete remix from the theatrical release which is limited to 5.1 or 6.1 depending on which path they've taken.
