Analogue gear is fantastic and it gives you the flexibility to test and try out different equipment.
After having gotten my self lost (in the equpment jungle) I found Meridian and got my self a digital Theatre. Then I got tired and wanted to test gear again.
There honestly is no straight answer to your question. You have to find your own taste and prefference.
That means testing and auditioning again and again until you get satisfied.
Just one strong advise - don't ever forget why you have this hobby - music and movies....

I have recently just returned to Meridian (complete system) because to me the synergy of sound, uppgradability, and looks is perfect (and I don't change my system like I change shirts anymore).
