Just wondering, do you have a complete Meridian kit, from DVD/CD - Processor - DSP, or do most of you match your M gear with other manufaturers? If so, what M piece do you own and matched to what other manufacturer/piece?
I hope I am making sense, it's late here in the E coast. Time for bed.
I started with just a Meridian Processor with other brand components and speakers and then replaced with a Meridian DVD, then Meridian DSP speakers and then a Meridian tuner.

If you're asking about what my "normal" system is, 861v4 + G91 + HDMAX421 for HDMI switching.
Other than that, it's various other manufacturers components. I do like the simplicity of the Digital Theatre system, but as a reviewer practicality says I can't run a Digital Theatre.
If I have an amp in to review, I need traditional speakers, if I have speakers in for review, I need an amplifier.
Having 10 speakers is just not practical in the space I have now.

I own Meridian G91 DVD player, Meridian G68 Processor, and just bought a Lexicon LX7 Power amp and use M&K Speakers S-150's L/C/R and M&K Columnn Surrounds and also use a Velodyne DD12 sub, and IMO the Meridian & M&K combo sound stunning for both Music and Films
I use my Meridian processor and and love it, also been using a 500 MKII transport and love it, but I just can't get on with the M digital speakers, not my cup of tea at all.
And for video, Philips 963 SDI modded going into a Crystalio Scaler.
Again I would lover to get a Meridian dsic spinner back in my system for an easy life, but until they bring out a product that at least matches the $500 Philips that won't be happening.
I asked because I see a lot of you going for the M processor and DVD/CD kit, matched to analgue amp and speakers - I think this is the norm here, right? Other than the evident benefit of having a G68/861 matched to a G91/98/800, what are your feelings of using a non-M source (a la Theta, Ayre, Denon) in a M digital theater?
MJC - I am one of whom you speak. Its just that my analogue amps are all Meridian, too. When I bought my B&W 803Ds I did listen to the DSP6ks and 7ks. Until I had my G98, I was running a Toshiba source into the system. The processor really managed to polish the sound but I still noticed a big improvement when i went over to something with a much better transport. A theta or Ayre will have that. Id be interested to hear how one of these sounds compared to a G series player going MHR.
MJC, there were some polls I did a while back (I think it was on upsampling), that indirectly revealed it's just about a 45% DSP - 55% Analog split for folks.
