don't you have issues with doing that for HDMI.

1st issue EDID information which would the player use.
2nd issue which res should it pick for each display.

Maybe 1080p for the projector then 720p for the plasma/LCD...but if the plama/lcd cannot accept 1080p and the projector can only accept 1080p then you are stuffed with what to choose from.

Which one....

It would be the responsibility of the person making the selections to insure the display could handle the signals being routed.

But the matrix switcher still has to maintain seperate pathways for EDID etc for each of the two outputs.

I can see how this can be a problem Michael (although in my particular situation both displays would require 720p) but I expect the designer/manufacturer to handle these details (as John said above - "But the matrix switcher still has to maintain seperate pathways for EDID etc for each of the two outputs") smile smile , preferably before I purchase the piece of hardware wink ...

Guys,

Coming back to the 421 for a moment rather than the seemingly forthcoming 422 wink does anyone else have a problem with the 421 not relaying some of the control signals through to the display.

I have a media centre which when rebooted (as it often needs) must be connected to the display otherwise it 'helpfully' turns off the display output on reboot. Even if the display is switched off the media centre 'sees' the display bit only when directly connected. If connected through the 421 it doesn't 'see' the display. (Before anyone askes yes I did check the correct input was selected on the 421 prior to reboot).

Anyone know the MSRP on the HDMAX 421; or where I could find the price? My dealer doesn't seem to know.

Simon

I am also in the market and I do not know the exact MSRP but what I found so far is the mean price the dealers are asking is $750USD. I have seen it at $795 and the lowest at $650. Hope this helps

Al

Real missed opportunity there. Would 4 less really make that much difference to Meridian? wink
