With NetLinx, it is assumed that I/R devices will need to be power controlled, so NetLinx I/R cards come with contact inputs as well. You can tie the two directly together, if needed. But you need not do this, and the contact inputs could be used for other things as well.
I already had gathered that. What I was asking was what do you have to purchase to connect between the device and the contact input? Essentially, I'm wondering if Panja may have some sensors that could be used with a Crestron system. Crestron's approach to current sensing is actually slightly different. If you want video synch sensing, you purchase their ST-VS box, which has 4 video sensors that interface directly to the rest of your system without a need for contact inputs (each video synch sensor include a passthrough jack). Similar for current sensing, but they have boxes with 1 or 2 sensors. They also have analog and digital ports (aka contact sensors), but don't sell power sensors (current, video, TV probe) that will work with them. I've been using SmartLinc probes (from Smarthome.com) for now.
