It's the ol' snake oil again!

However, I think it likely that both Belden 1865A and the Liberty, which are 3GHz cables, will be better for longer runs. I had a look at the Belden technical measurements for the cable and attenuation rockets with frequency.

99p! That's a third of the price of the other three as sold by crt and Mark Grant...

A Good analogy is the Motor Trade.

The Oil you put in your car, You can pay over the top for highly advertised performance brands, or you could look up the Spec Numbers and Letters.
If they meet the Spec required, that is all you need; all the rest is Bull and promotion.

Liquid engineering and all that is just hype in my opinion. The same must be true with cables.

You need competant well made cables fit for the purpose and that is it.

After all, its only rock n roll, Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Hey Duncan,

The wiring harness arrived today. Looks good. Thanks for firing it off promptly. I'll pop a note off when I've got it installed and have a chance to do a comparison between component and SDI connections into the IScan HD+.

Happy Trails!

Thanks Duncan.

My Philips 963 should have arrived at crtprojectors today for SDI modification. Hopefully they'll be able to return it to me by the end of the week. The BT656 board for the 598 and an extra SDI cable will be sent at the same time... The comparison of the two through my Crystalio should be very interesting.

I can report that open MPEG surgery on my 598DS was a first time success (once I figured out how to open it up!). SDI and RGB outputs both working correctly. Thanks for making this a breeze Duncan!

Let the Philips 963 SDI vs. Meridian 598 SDI battle commence. (Well, once my new screen is up...)
