Dear Meridian Friends

I have been thinking about making this video for years and I worked a whole week trying to learn AI animation to help with the B rolls. I apologize for the AI slop, we all know there are some infuriating ones out there. In case I break forum rules, my channel is called "de Audiófilos y locos". The video is available with an English track translation. Just last Friday I was finishing doing some research here in HH and found myself as the ONLY one lurking. Many other guests, but zero members. I hope this video helps fuel some enthusiasm 😃

Wow- this is the best video on Meridian I've seen from a fan. Bravo!

It's interesting to see your perspective on Meridian's sound as a professional musician and it's a powerful endorsement.

You hit on a few key points that really resonated with me during my 20+ year journey with Meridian:

1) That Meridian equipment was so far of ahead of time. Nice shout out for the DSP6000s!

2) The legacy Meridian equipment that would be regarded today as "old" or "obsolete" can sound incredible and provide much joy.

3) Meridian equipment can be a destination away from the merry-go-round of constant upgrades, equipment swapping, and tweaks that fail to deliver.

Great job!

I have to concur with Pedro's opinion.

When I upgraded from my DSP7's to the DSP8's I auditioned the DSP7.2's but felt they were like the DSP7's just more so.

The moment I listened to the same track on the DSP8's it seemed as though the speakers were no longer there and I was just listening to the sound.

That was nearly 2 years ago and I am still marvelling at the musicality of these phenomenal devices.

I strongly agree with your assertion that "The legacy Meridian equipment that would be regarded today as 'old' or 'obsolete' can sound incredible and provide much joy." I have sold a lot of Meridian 500-series equipment and DSP 5000 speakers as complete systems, and I have received a great deal of feedback stating that this is the best sound people have ever heard.
