I was having issues with my 861, so decided rather than waiting, I'd pick up a second hand 568 in the interim. I found a pretty clean looking 568 on eBay, for a good price.
I'm running it with all Digital Theater (DSP6000 fronts, DSP5000C, and DSP5000's for rears) and so far, everything was working and sounding great! Problem is...on anything NOT digital (DTS/DD), I get dropouts, mainly in the left speaker it seems. Even when listening to CD's in Direct, I get occasional drop outs, which also seem to coming from the left side.
I checked cables and connections, and everything seems fine. Did I get a bad unit maybe? Any way I can troubleshoot to find the problem here?

I presume you mean you got dropouts with regular PCM audio data streams ?
Which version of the 568 are you using, which firmware version is it running ?

It almost sounds like a clock issue. But I don't get why PCM would be different to DD/DTS since their decoded output is also PCM.
But... HS might come into play. DD/DTS doesn't use it IIRC whereas PCM from CD can. Usually, it's either working or not though.
If you run setup on each speaker, FL and FR and change their channel assignment, does the fault follow the channel swap?

Hi there. Yes, that is correct. My 568 2.5b9 v 262m
Again, on DTS/DD, everything is fine. It only happens on PCM whether that be listening to music (direct or even Music Logic) or watching a movie in Pro Logic.

If you run setup on each speaker, FL and FR and change their channel assignment, does the fault follow the channel swap? I hadn't thought about that. Let me try it and see if the issue follows the speaker/channel swap.
