Any guidance greatly appreciated...

Just got back from Africa and decided to purchase a Nucleus One to simplify the world, moving from a Roon Server on my 2014 QNAP NAS or my MacBook Air running Roon.

If I take the latest backup of my Roon system before it all jumped on the boat back in October last year, and restore that file to either my little MacBook Air or my old NAS, everything runs fine, super smooth, restores, reboots, and we're off.

If I restore the same file from the same location to my Nucleus ONE, the reboot just goes around in an unlimited loop, spinning the logo and then rebooting, repeat repeat.

Never gets to a fully restored system. All on the right software versions, etc.

Any ideas?

Can’t help directly since although I let Roon do the backup process, I’ve never actually used them. When I moved from Roon 1.8 -> 2.0 I just moved the hard disks with my FLACs to the new Mac Mini and installed Roon from scratch. I figured I could live without my playing history for any easy life. Which is probably heresy to many.

Anyway, can you move some FLACs to the Nuceus and fire up Roon and just do a quickly sanity test the box is working ie play a file see the Roon UI etc

It's more than a decade of cultivating my collection - nothing to do with the amount of physical media - according to Roon, even the Tidal tracks referenced could be causing issues. I don't have a small library agreed - maybe 100k tracks - but honestly my 14 year old NAS walks this as does my entry level macbook from a couple of years back so one would assume a dedicated device for that much cash would hold it's own... that is proper snake oil if it can't even do that - no multi room, one end device, maybe 500 albums of mine and the rest on Tidal - and it can't do that?? :-)

From memory, I think Roon's team would ask you to provide a diagnostics (dump) file so they can pinpoint what's going on. I'm sure the Nucleus will handle your library, it seems more likely there is a database corruption somewhere that is spooking the Nucleus.
