No, DSP9 and 8000XE only as both these models use the extended bassfeature.

I think a lot of us would love to see something like this (I get the impression this is true inside of Meridian too). The problem is guaranteeing there is a large enough market for them as Meridian is being run with an eye on remaining consistently profitable. If they can make an argument for a replacement to the 818, this might become a step closer to reality (depending on how different the architecture was).

The gamble is the investment they would have to make vs the known market size. I get the impression the tooling for the case alone is very expensive, aside of the electronic and software engineering that goes with it.

But what a beast this could be!

The feedback on the latest software update seems quite different depending on the speaker.

For the DSP8000XE with v2.1.01, the improvement has been described as subtile but clearly audible. For the DSP9 with v1.1.01, one owner described it as almost night and day.

Has anyone installed v1.1.01 on a DSP8000 Performance Pack system yet?

I would be particularly interested in how much difference the update makes on the DSP8000PP, and especially how an updated PP compares with a DSP8000SE. Is the improvement closer to the subtle change reported for the XE, or more like the much larger change reported for the DSP9?
