I have a 210 that I haven’t used in awhile and hooked it back up only to find I can’t get it to check for updates (via the MControl app) or get sound out of it.

I have spoken to Bruce about it and he seems to think I need to send it in for a repair.
The identification states main version 01.00.01 (not sure if that is the firmware version).
Before I do that I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on what I might try.

Things I have tried:
When I power it up the blue “ Net” light is solid and my MControl app sees it.
The light turns solid white when I play a source ( Roon).
I have it hard wired to my network. When I “ check for updates “ in the MControl app it states “Error- check the internet connection “
I have tried rebooting, unplugging etc.
I tried hooking it up via the MasterSL out to SL in on the 271.
I also tried to go to my 218 SL in.
In MControl Audio setup I have tried SL and network.
I use Roon as a source and I have enabled the 210 and I see the audio bars moving on the Roon display.
I have tried all the different inputs on the remote.
I went into the 271 audio setup on the MControl app and tried SL and network and last valid.

All the above produces no sound.

The unit is not under warranty but I have rarely used it so I am open to suggestions before having to send it in to have it checked.

Try running the Control app with admin rights.

I tried running the Control app on my iPad and also my PC
I need to check on the admin of my PC and try again
Does anyone know what the current firmware is ?

I have the same issue with the 210 regarding the firmware upgrade error and version but otherwise my 210 is working normally.

Make sure that you are connected to a wired network. Then ensure that you are communicating with the 210 over Bluetooth, then initiate the update.

I haven’t tried pairing my iPad via Bluetooth - Thanks for the suggestion Bruce.
What is the current software version?

My 210 states the same.
When I check for updates it should say “ Up to Date” but it says error instead.
The bigger issue is I haven’t been able to get it to play anything ( produce any sound) but I haven’t had time to try pairing it with Bluetooth ( will have some time in the next 2-3 days).
I only tried using my Roon app on my iPad via the Trinnov. My 218 works fine doing this.

I’ve had more time to troubleshoot the firmware update issue.

I’ve tried connecting to the 210 via Bluetooth with both my iPad and PC.
I’ve used both WiFi and an Ethernet connection on my PC.
Interestingly the iPad Control app recognizes the 210 and connects but the PC Control app doesn’t.

When I manually try to add the 210 to the PC Control app it lists devices to add and a 210 isn’t even offered in the menu.

The app version is the same on the iPad and PC - 2.2 build 267.

I listed it as a 218 instead (closest component to it as listed) and put in the IP address and it still doesn’t see it (or connect) even though in the added component section I see it listed.

The 210 lights on the front respond correctly ( solid white light upon a Bluetooth connection and solid blue light on Network Connection which turns white when I try a source on the iPad Control app.

Has anyone used an iPad to update their 210?

I am thinking a PC may work if I can get the app to see the 210.
I haven’t retried playing any music yet.

Not sure what else to try before sending it in to the repair shop.

Update: I finally got it to play music.
I used SL master out on the 210 to SL in on the 271 and used the “218” button on my remote which is a SL input.
So now the only issue is the firmware update.

Question:
Does the 210 need to in standby (blue light on) or on ( white light) in order to do automatic updates?
Bruce mentioned Bluetooth on but I think that would be for a manual update.
I thought about trying that for a firmware update now that it is playing music.
