In the last 6 months I have had problems with playing music on my Meridian system. I have a Meridian 861 version 6, which has an ID40 card. I have 3 different zones, the other two run off MS200s. On both of these zones the sound is fine. When I try to play music using roon through the 861 on my main system (which is all Meridian) I experience distortion and also continuous crackling, (a bit like static on an LP record) which is ever present. If I pause the track the crackling continues for a second which suggests to me there is something wrong with the streaming from the 861/ID40. All other devices connected to the 861 play perfectly, it is just using roon that's the problem. I also have experienced variable volume issues with the left side being louder than the right. If I increase the volume to a quite high level this often corrects this problem, but it returns. I understand Meridian do not make anything like the ID40 anymore. If anyone has and ideas how I might proceed with this issue I would be very grateful. I am a huge music fan but I cannot listed to my music on my main system as is stands.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!
Drop me a PM, and we can see what we can sort out.
I'm not too far from you and have Roon and a spare ID40, so we can see what is causing your issue.
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks very much for your response and offer of help – much appreciated. Sorry, being a bit dumb here and don't know what a PM is? However, I'm happy to let you have my contact details if you like?
Cheers Peter
