The Sigberg looks to be a Peerless Xls 12 combined with a Hypex ucd 400 modul and a 2900 euro cabinet smile

Perhaps you could consider using a external amplifier with DSP for both DSW subs?

Hi guys

So after extensive reading of reviews and searching deals, I have finally decided to pay for the repair of the DSW.

The next question is how to place the two DSW's now one is technically a .2
I had them on the outside edges of my 6ks.

Is that still suitable now they are slightly different?

Does anyone have one of each, and if so, where are they placed?

I have read that Meridian recommended having the .2 at the front and the .1 at the rear.
Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Nick

If you put them on the front en rear wall, you will load the room more evenly with bass. That helps with flattening the frequency response by reducing standing waves (resonance) and reducing some dips. It results in tighter bass.

So i have some questions about placement.

1. If i put the .2 at the front and shift the .1 to the rear would it be better to have the front one between the front and centre speaker, or on the outside of the front right speaker?

2. The rear sub would be outside of the rear left speaker, opposite diagonal corner to the front sub. Is that best?

3. Do i run them as mono and daisy chain them, or as stereo pair?

4. They would be different distances from listening position. 11 ft front. 7 ft rear. In mono i cannot set those distances separately. In stereo, is it the case that they would be fed left right signals , with it going to front and rear, and therefore not be used for the LFE channel?

Would really appreciate your help with this guys.

Many thanks

Nick

I think it depends on the room dimensions. When I bought my 2 Perlisten D12s subs, the dealer ran my (3) room dimensions through REW & it came up with having the front one a third in from the left wall & the rear one third in from the right wall at the back of the room.

I then, out of interest, put my room dimensions & detailed equipment listing into ChatGPT & it came up with the exact same placement suggestion, which I found to be amazing. It took it about a tenth of a second of course, and it knew all of my equipment, some of which is fairly specialised stuff. You can have an ongoing chat with the AI, telling it what settings you have & what you like / don't like about your bass.

Strange days indeed.
