This latest review of the Lyngdorf MP-60 2.1 claims to compare it to Meridian G68, Anthem AVM-70, and Marantz AV-10, but without explicitly comparing each unit in turn to the Lyngdorf MP-60. I bought my 861 from a guy who replaced it with that machine because he wanted Atmos and he said he actually had some regrets as the lyngdorf was worse in Stereo than the 861. He uses Wilson audio watt 7.1 with the other models for centre and surround channels.

Is it not the case, with a 271 in the chain, that by adding a 218 by-passes the Lyngdorf for superior stereo performance compared to relying on the Lyngdorf alone?

That's how I have my 210 connected. Directly via SL to the 271.

The first two Atmos height speakers are now installed and the Cinema 50 uses the power amp for only those two channels. I made a 45 degree angled install on the two fronts and the rears will be mounted straight down as I have little space behind the rear couch. Sound is amazing when you have a proper Atmos movie. FWIW, a favourable Storm|Audio assessment from the archives.At present, a 20 channel AES/EBU ISP EVO is £15,950 - and the 32 channel AES/EBU variant is £17,650 (both featuring DiracArt). Contrast this with a Trinnov Altitude32 8-16 (all variants limited to 16 channel AES/EBU) at £28,149.

For those with only a replacement Meridian G68 budget, who cannot justify the necessary expenditure for Lyngdorf, Storm|Audio or Trinnov, a Marantz AV-10 is £6k retail (UK). Alternatively, you could buy a Marantz AV-10 (brand-new) ‘B Stock’ directly from the UK distributor.
