In my opinion you own one of these for life. You do not need Meridian to fix them You can find experts that will fix it typically for the electronics that go bad parts are available. Nothing made today is built to the same quality as this unit.
Buying one of these is like buying a classic car. You have to love it but once you love it you don't want to give it up. I have an F80 and I love it it's beautiful nothing beats it and as long as I can find the parts I'll keep running it.
