Happy new year everyone.

I have a second MC200 in another room (purchased second hand) but can’t see it on the Meridian apps or BT router network, the first MC200 is there to see. It’s connected to a BT hub via a BT disc and Ethernet splitter box.

I don’t have its IP address so can’t try adding it manually and have tried restarting the router and unplugging devices but still can’t see it.

Does anyone have any possible solutions or can I add a WiFi dongle?

Many thanks!

My first thought is can you run 2 MC200 on the same network? The issue being running 2 “cores”. It might be worth trying the “new” MC200 with your original one switched off? I’ve never tried running two cores on my system but I know in my MD600 you can switch off the unit being a core such that you can run more than one MD600s on the network, the second acting as additional storage recognised by the running core. I cannot remember if the MC200 has a similar ability to switch off the “core” to allow a similar system configuration.

However if that’s not the issue this might help…. There was a Sooloos configuration program that would find all Meridian/Sooloos kit on the network even if they were set to a static IP that was from a different subset (apologies if this is the wrong language…) once you’ve identified the connected equipment you can switch to ‘use DHCP’ or change the static IP address using the same Sooloos config program.

Bad news, I cannot remember where you could download this program from or if it’s still available. I saved a copy years ago and drag it out to install every now and then if I get a new computer. I think it’s been mentioned that similar facility e it’s in the newer config program to you can use with 218/210.

This old thread has a link But I haven’t tested if it still works.

Let me know if that fixes your issue.

Richard

Hi, sorry for the slow reply.

I’ve tried various options and finally can see both MC200’s on the network, the music app and the configuration app, linking both zones etc.
I’ve followed various peoples ideas and have set the options on the configuration app so that only one is the system core, however that seems to return to the default of both being a core for some reason, can’t hear the music but the songs play on the app.

Almost there and thanks for the advice it helped a lot.

Take a look at my recent experience with two cores on one network

I found the Meridian Sooloos Configuration application via a link in the Roon forum a couple of weeks ago - you probably need the original Meridian version (no longer available from M) rather than the recent app used via a smart telephone.
