Greetings, can anyone help sort out an incompatibility issue using M218 and 8Ks and/or 5200s going through the home’s Dream Machine router.
The M app does not automatically recognize the 218 even though it is present on the network. If the 218 is manually entered onto the M app using its IP address only data passes through to the speakers from a QNAP/Roon source, no sound.
We’ve tried everything we can think of, still no joy. Please help if you can. Thanks!

Hi Bruce
If you download and run "fing" on your phone, you should be able to see all devices that are on your network. Check to see if the 218 and QNAP are on the same network. Do you have a laptop? Please let me know what operating system you run e.g. Windows and I can make some more suggestions. Please can you also describe how the different parts of your system are connected?

Hi Bruce,
I think it might be worth trying a firmware update on the 218 using Meridian Device Manager. I just had a similar problem. 218 > AC12 > DSP5000s. Control was passed through but no sound. The firmware update fixed the issue.

I have had this problem many times, if I connect the 218 directly to the router the problem went away in my case. But I think you have received the right advice already, the new firmware seems much better in network performance.
Main: DSP8000SE< 218 < Farad Super3 TMCB < PS Audio P10. Room correction: Focus Fidelity.
