Hi All, as promised. I meant what I said recently, I feel the passion when I read the posts on here and you are all a great bunch. Let me show you what we have been up to.
These are some projects that I have personally had the pleasure of overseeing.
First one here was a stand-out, this system is 11.8.7, full Meridian solution. Front soundstage as you can see here is DSP8000XE in custom finish graphite. My boss toured the customer through HQ and he fell in love with these. 3 channels down each side using DSP520, surround backs are DSP750.
2 X DSW600 IW at the front, 2 at the rear, 1 on each side and one suspended overhead. 7 x Atmos are DSP520 also suspended overhead. 1 x 32 inch ascendo infrasonic in the rear.
Apple TV 4K, Kaleidescape, Amazon fire stick, Zidoo UHD-8000 [plus distributed sources over IP video from savant- 2 x fox/sky, another kaleidescape and apple tv]. All fed into lumagen radiance video processor, and processing done with Storm Audio ISP ELITE MKIII.
Most of this is concealed behind custom Italian made fabric wall panelling, which also hides all room treatments. Projection from a Christie M4k25RGB, 25000 lumen output [this thing is wild!], mounted and vibration isolated in a state-of-the-art hushbox designed by yours truly. Smart temperature gauges with twin 8-inch fans dedicated to exhaust and supply air to keep the projector running cool at all times.
This entire room is cabled with Audioquest FMJ600, shielded Cat6A, with custom shielded power cable from LÄPP in Germany.
Next up is our latest one, this one was particularly tricky. DSP8000SE front stage, with 7200HC. Client has a beautiful McLaren 720 spider and wanted all the speakers to match the paintwork, hence the custom blue finish. You will notice the atmos and surrounds here as a stand-out. I took the little rubber feet off and we mounted them using the threads both upside down [for the rears] and on angle and on axis for the 4 atmos channels.
Sides are DSP520, mounted in the custom timber slatwork which runs side to side. We used some amazing pixel mapping products from a local Australian company to produce all of the LED effects you see. The pixel tape and diffusers are incorporated into the slats, continuous side to side, as well as behind the rear diffuser panels, and even in the ceiling speaker boxes. There's a special strip which lights the curtain at the front of the room.
This system has much the same sources (minus the Video over IP), also using lumagen and storm audio. This one however is the latest ISP evo, which allows us to take 16 channels of AES straight into the 271, keeping the signal pure digital until it reaches the speakers.
4 x DSW.2 [2 front and 2 rear] also in a matching colourway. This hushbox is slightly smaller and incorporated into the Joinery, making serving easier. Screen and room size is smaller here, meaning we used a SONY VPL-XW7000, with a panamorph anamorphic lense to help with the 120 inch 2.35:1 screen.
Admins, if this isn't allowed feel free to remove.
Hitchhikers, please enjoy!
