I am currently using a 210 with my DSP5200SE speakers to run spotify connect

What options are available to run qobuz connect? Needs to be a similar device to the 210 with speakerlink input output. Any workarounds possible to use a cheap streamer with the Meridian speakers?

If you want to stay firmly in the Meridian ecosystem, you need to overcome your reluctance to subscribe to Roon/Qobuz.

If you had a 218, you could cheaply add a Sonos Port connected via coax that utilised the 218’s internal DAC - with both units controlled in tandem with the Meridian app.

Or, you could nicely ask Meridian to offer everyone a Qobuz Connect - and Tidal Connect - firmware upgrade on the Meridian 210.

I have a 218 in the loft (yes really) 😆

Used it before changing to 210.

The Sonos port would have to be used with a Roon NUC? And subscription?

Was thinking about a WiiM Ultra. How does it differ to Sonos Port?

Can I just plug either into my G65 and do away with both 210 and 218?

Not that bothered about MQA anymore.

Also looks like Sonos doesn't have Qobuz connect just yet.

I think the G65 can pass 24bit 192khz to 5200SE.

Am I right in thinking that I can buy a Roon Nucleus for 600 add a SSD? (Optional?) and use my 218 as the endpoint? Then I don't need a WiiM or a Sonos port?

Would just need to subscribe to Roon though?

Yes, if you already subscribe to Qobuz.

There is an advantage to routing your 210 through your 218: I use an Audioquest Vodka RJ-45 cable, that has substantively improved the overall quality of its audio output. YMMV.

Why is the 210 so expensive now? Looks like it only offers spotify connect and upnp over a 218 but almost double the price.

Blame the Pandemic for the initial shortage of materials that pushed prices sky high - and they haven't receded.

I am late commenting on this but I have to say that Roon has made listening to music such an immense pleasure that I could not be without it. It was not hard to try free for a month without subscribing and I found an NUC computer for sale on eBay that had ROCK installed. A cheap option. I was so impressed by the whole set up that I eventually upgraded the computer running the Roon Core and it runs in a fanless case. All my music systems are hidden away apart from the loudspeakers. So I’m not really even aware of the Roon computer. And can’t see how a Roon Nucleus one or a ROON titan at £3500 would offer any improvement.
I use a 218 as an endpoint and that feeds the DSP7200SE speakers and what is especially helpful is that ROON, the 218 and the DSP7200SE speakers just integrate together effortlessly, all controlled from an iPad I have dedicated for music. I could not go back to any other form of listening at the moment and can’t recommend Roon highly enough.

I can’t see how a 210 would help me, and I think the 210 and 218 are the same price arent they?
