I can not get the grills of my DSP7200's speakers. - Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have tried the advice in the manual - pulling at the notch at 3 - 9 o'clock and jiggling forwards - no luck.

If there is any damage as I go its on me of course - but as a second question can you get replacements anywhere?

I think it’s incredibly difficult. I did eventually get the bass covers off with persistence and found all the driver bolts needed tightening. But I can’t get the midrange driver covers off at all.

l found best to let finger nails grow a bit to get a good hold and then keep gently “ wiggling “ forward.
The SE range is very much easier, the only one l have to be more persistent with is the centre which was upgraded to SE but still using earlier cabinet grill etc.
Don’t use any tool as that is when damage can occur.

They are held in very securely… I couldn’t remove mine with just fingers.

I was advised by an old sage to use a serving spoon that has a flat-ish rounded “fishtailed” small end.

Then using that small rounded end to act as leaver behind those cutout slots and slowly work the driver cover out … alternating between left and right side.

Once it started to release I switched to fingers on both sides for the final pull.

This worked but I must admit I was worried about damaging the cloth… but it’s really a matter of confidence.

Spoon technique success. Tried a few spoons - make sure nice and smooth and fairly thin - mine the one that worked was around 1/2 an inch in end diameter, just under 1/8 inch thick

First one terrifying Second one little better Third one -- Sixth one OK now I have this. That said tread carefully I always felt like a quick slip could occur at any moment and it would be a disaster

As above, I found a teaspoon worked.

It was still difficult and I didn't think this was going to work without damaging the speaker, but it was fine. Take it slowly and be wary of any sharp edges of the spoon digging in, you should be fine. If I were to do this again, I'd probably cut up some rubber kitchen gloves to use as protection for the speaker, just to be on the safe side.

Might the softish plastic tools that garages use to remove trim from cars not be a good idea? They are not dear and are designed for a similar purpose.

Out of interest, once the covers were removed did you find that the speaker bolts needed tightening?

I've never had the courage to try and remove the covers on my speakers.

That sounds like a very good idea! Just be careful not to damage the fabric.

I did find the bolts needed tightening. Inevitable, I suspect, over time as the cabinet settles and the speakers vibrate

l have found for a long time now that all the bolts need tightening about every 4 to 5 weeks!🤔

Be sure to observe the 2.6nm torque specification and do not overtighten the bolts.
