Given that (DbM) Meridian is a Trinnov UK Distributor, it’s highly unlikely that Meridian will ever produce their own AVP that exceeds the specification/performance characteristics of Trinnov.

I agree 100%. The cost to hire the people with the skills the R&D and the codec licensing costs plus the time involved to do what?
Produce a product to compete with one of there distributed vendors. It won’t happen. Shame as I have enjoyed my Meridian journey.

Meridian could have adopted the Focal or JBL Synthesis approach. Each manufacturer partnered with Storm|Audio and Trinnov respectively to produce a customised variant of their products.

Meridian could choose a similar path for a customised branded Meridian AVP: one that included SpeakerLink outputs. Indeed, Storm|Audio are willing to partner Meridian in such a venture - but I strongly suspect that Meridian much prefer their existing Trinnov relationship.

They want to focus on their speaker and automotive business, plus various consultancy revenue streams.

Another cost that you guys haven't considered is competent 24/7 tech support being a worldwide product.

That is a taken, but they have the support infrastructure in place for their speakers and automotive, I did mention hiring the staff. Not just development but support.

It’s obvious they don’t want to play in that market.

I have personal experience of both Trinnov and Storm|Audio responding to my pre-sales enquiries on the evening of Christmas Eve. I very much doubt other such manufacturers would similarly respond to potential customers.

One thing I will say about Lyngdorf. The warranty is complete [censored]. 2 years for this sort of product doesn’t show confidence in your product. V Poor
I got a better warranty on my Kitchen Aid food mixer. 😁

If you want a 5 year warranty you should buy either Trinnov or Storm|Audio.

At the end of the initial 5 year factory warranty you have the choice to submit the product to the manufacturer for assessment prior to renewing its warranty for another 5 years.

Tech support and warranty service with Lyngdorf can sometimes be a weeks long email back and forth before there is a resolution. Trinnov and Storm are usually within hours, often remotely over the internet.

And pay 60+% more. I could save that and use for repairs over the next 20 years if any are required.

I am commenting on the company policy of 2 year warranty, which appears to be across all there products. Many competitors offer 3 with a few offering extended if you register with so many weeks.

Hopefully I won’t need to worry it as I didn’t with my Meridian after an initial fault was fixed within the first couple of months.

On my Meridian I had one initial fault that was fixed under warranty and I never contacted them ever again.

Hopefully I won’t need to contact Lyngdorf anyway.

I have never contacted Dynaudio in the 25 years I have owned there products. Maybe that is famous last words!
