I discovered I couldn't connect to my 271 via the Meridian Control app anymore.
It just refuses to find it even if I type in the IP address. It behaves as if it doesn't even attempt to find device on the local network and only finds my 210 via bluetooth.
I see there was an app update on the 13th (2.0.8 build 235) so I'm suspecting that new version is the cause but it could of course be a fluke.
I haven't changed anything and now it's just not working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it makes no difference.
Anyone else seeing this?

Same here, impossible to connect to my 818 since the last update on both phone and iPad.
The app sees the ID41 card under the device manger tap, but just a rotating circle on the control screen.

That's the version I'm running and it works just fine.

My app seems to have auto-updated 6 days ago. No issues so far connecting to the 818.
Reboot phone ? Reboot router ?

Did that and no change.
I connected the WiFi router the phone uses to the same unmanaged switch the 271 is connected to and it makes no difference.
Discovery is based on UDP or TCP multicast I think?
Anyway it doesn't work.

It's working again, I rebooted everything again. Router, switches, phone, 271 and nothing changed. I went into the app and deleted the 271 IP address and added it again (I had probably done this 20 times before) and this time it showed up under Device Manager (before it was just a grey box) but it could still not find it under Control despite several tries. I then deleted and added it again and now it did find the 271. None of this makes much sense.

Hi,
Had same issue today, and solution was near the same, I had added for my 218 its IP fixed, removed this, and without any restart, the config appeared.
Could it be there is something wrong when fixed IP are entered into the app?
Guido.

Yeah must be something like that. However I deleted and added it many many times before it started working so there is something else going on a well.

And the issue came back. I did absolutely nothing and can't connect to the 271 again. The IP address I defined in the app was gone. I didn't do that but it's gone. I added and deleted and added it a gazillion times and it makes no difference. This app version ...

FWIW, over time I’ve noticed that if I engage Apple’s own VPN on my iPad, and then inadvertently engage VPN within Norton360 on my iPad, that it can play havoc with the operability of apps (causing missing features).

I had problems with my RTI controlled cinema not long before Christmas. I thought my RTI processor was on the blink. Now, thanks to this forum, I have learned that M had changed the Control software. I suspect (hope) that M had finally got round to addressing the very longstanding problem of the 271 not coming on from standby to a chosen volume level as opposed to always, despite settings, coming on at 65. But how misguided to release the change just before Christmas - a time when home cinemas tend to be fully used.
I think the glitch is related to fixed IP addresses as the only time I have regained control is when, out of desperation, I decided to give DHCP a try. Strangely, the address showing was the same fixed address as before (which is not in the allowed DHCP range of the router) but I had control back again. Note that I could see that, despite 'No Device Found' messages, the Control program always could talk to the 271 because it has always been able to acquire and show the Configuration settings of the 271.
I have written to my Dealer and to Meridian directly about all this. I don't think for a moment that any dealer will be able to fix it, so, even though M seem to view customers contemptibly as an irritating nuisance, I hope that getting some experience from users will help them diagnose and solve the glitch speedily.

Mine randomly connected again. I did not have the IP predefined in the app and it found it anyway.
