Hi,
I'm looking for the firmware update for a DSP5200HC SpeakerLink. It's now 1.33 and I believe 2.69 is the latest or is it 3.16?

It depends.... Does it display "DSP5200" or "DSP5200.2" when powered on from the back panel switch?

Hmm some problems rose. I've bought it as being untested.
At first it gave a continuous high pitch sound from a woofer but that disappeared after a while and it played fine.
When I switch it on from the back it doesn't show the model but some symbols, which change to different symbols after switching it on and of again. B B, / / , G #6,000 0007, after that it goes to normal standby and reacts normal. I have had the strange symbol thing before with an other DSP speaker which was a update gone very wrong.
Just turned it back on after having it in standby for an half hour and the high pitched noise is back again but it still plays fine and the noise does not change with volume.
The high pitched noise stays also in standby, could that be a capacitor gone bad?
After just switching it off and on again the noise is gone.

I would suggest that you look into getting it serviced. Last time I had a speaker do that white smoke followed. What is the serial number?

The serial is D52HC-200708. I will have to look into the electronics. If someone has some pointers on the repair...

Sounds like the speaker is an early SpeakerLink and not the .2 version. If the tweeters have the newer 'M' logo, then it could be a .2 but usually, the speaker will start up and say "Meridian DSP5200.2" on the display at power-up.
It's definitely worth getting it serviced. That sounds like a bad capacitor. If you leave it and it goes short, it can do a lot more damage - white smoke will only be the start of it!
I've recently re-capped a 5200 that had a similar problem!

The tweeter is without the logo so it would be a non .2 SL so no possibility for EBA or Centre Elevation?
