It seems that the 857, G57 and G55 have disappeared from the website with just the 258 remaining in the amplification section.
I’m guessing this means they’re all discontinued? However, they are both still on the online product brochure.

Seems there is an ever diminishing product line, with no replacements in sight for a lot of equipment. Very sad.

Not sure if even 818 is still available…

The UHD722 appears to have been removed from the Meridian portfolio of products, too.

Crikey.

So basically Meridian currently offer only DSPs and custom install stuff, then?

Yeah…

I mean, the glass half full part of me hopes there is something new coming… but recent years have shown no reason to be optimistic on the endpoint/processor front, sadly.

It is highly unlikely that there will ever be another Meridian designed AVP.

I think I accepted that multichannel was gone a while back, although it’s a shame not to carry on the 861v8, which is still the best sounding multichannel processor, if you don’t need Atmos, etc.

What is really sad is no reference level 2-channel endpoint now. The 818v3 really did get the best out of a stereo pair of DSPs.

My vote would be for a lovely new case design for the 818, harking back to the classic 500, or old (NOT new) 200, or 600 series. I was never a fan of the 800 case design anyway.

What Meridian could do, is really leverage their unique processing heritage and offer a new 818 level 3-channel endpoint. This would not be to compete with cinema processors, but to offer Trifield (and potentially MRC) and sub integration for music listening (it just happens it would also sound excellent for movies if you don’t need surround channels).

Lots of other manufacturers offering this kind of thing these days, with sub integration and room correction, but none of them can offer Trifield. Might be a very nice USP, and sell more DSPs.

One way of doing this would be to go modular, along the lines of the old 200/600 series, so customers could buy the “stereo module” and then later, optionally, add the Trifield module and a “sub/MRC” module. All with nice, matching casework. (Another example of a similar idea is the DCS Lina line, with DAC/Clock/Headphone amp, all modular/matching…

Storm|Audio are willing and able to produce a Meridian badged clone of their ISP EVO for Meridian - complete with 20 x RJ-45 SpeakerLink outputs. Meridian are aware of their offer.

That really would be sad! From pioneer on the cutting edge. To rebadging other companies’ tech. No, no, no.

That’s encouraging.

Wonder if there will be at least a new HDMI switch, then?
