I need to ship my 861v4 to Mr Tech Guy.
Do any of you have any recommended couriers that deal "nicely" with fragile equipment?
Thanks in advance

Based on my recent experience on researching ‘safe’ couriers, other than transporting an item yourself there is no cast-iron guarantee on relying on a third-party courier.

I would have to suggest getting it there by your own hands if you can.
I had a DSW go to Mr Tech Guy for a service and the courier they used to return it to me actually managed to smash the cabinet through the box!! The electronics were damaged as well. Must have been some whack it took. Back it went again.
They along with Sound craft HiFi in Ashford got it sorted. They were all brilliant and couldn't have been more helpful.
Sound craft actually delivered it back to me themselves the second time to be sure it arrived safely. So if you can spare the time. Do it yourself, or pay a friend to deliver it for you!! But good luck either way.

I have always transported my gear myself, even if it cost me some time and money. I’ve had issues with couriers in the past (two Quad amps with cases literally bent when they arrived at my repairers!). Whatever it costs you in time and travel, I doubt it will add up to the value of a replacement 861 should yours be destroyed.

I agree, best done yourself.
Failing that, I tend to use DPD, but always take out third-party insurance as a precaution (their own insurance rates are really high, and I rarely use their option). Legally, I would have thought they would be liable for damaging something adequately packed regardless, but hey ho!
DHL have also managed to get everything to me undamaged, but I've had a few items get temporarily lost during the customs process, which can lead to a few days of concern.

I wonder who Meridian use to ship their goods to their dealers - at home and abroad - as I’ve yet to learn of any Meridian dealer complaining about damaged goods received from the Mothership?
