The D83’s are an 8” wide design that fits into a 6” wide hole. Plus, it’s a 2 part design, with a wired basket ‘chassis’ that is first installed plus the main body that then twists/rotates into the chassis. The tweeters are directional.

If you subsequently want to upgrade/replace the speaker you don’t have to completely remove/re-install the whole speaker. Plus, as the speaker grill magnetically attaches to the chassis, if you move home you can take the main speaker body with you and simply buy replacement basket chassis’ and grills - thereby eradicating the need to fix the ceiling holes.

I use the Kef ci200qr in my bathroom, kitchen and master bedroom through my 258 really happy with the sound performance, I don’t think they need to be much better .

Jonathan,

I think I’ll go with the Q-series as well.

I usw 4 DSP3200 as front and rear heights and be exited with the sound.

I can tailor all my speakers with the AL32 and use the Auro-3D with my basic 2 channel sources to create my own acoustic room.

It needed some work to find the correct adjustments, but now I’m very satisfied.

So for me its a perfect speaker as its a very good technical and sounding speaker and also fits quiet well the DSP8000 in optical appearance.

Robert

That sounds interesting, both as a solution and visually. How did you end up mounting them? High on the front and back walls, or inverted on the ceiling? Any chance of a photo?

See here DSP3200 as heights with stands.

My room have different heights, so I found a speaker stand that can be mount very flexible, walls ceiling or an edges (like mine).

They are professionally stands König & Meyer 24496-000-55.

Thanks Robert for taking the time to post that. Those mounts look seriously beefy and well engineered. That's a very practical solution for directivity, and with no need for ceiling surgery either.

Nice set-up, by the way.
