Is this something I can replace myself or do I need to have it serviced. Live in Norway, don't know if we have any support for Meridian equipment.

Is this an error message you’re getting on the 568’s screen? Might just need the firmware re-flashing.

Maybe start with some of the troubleshooting steps here.

It’ll be roughly similar for a 568.2, but you’ll have to use the legacy config program and the latest version of the firmware if you have to re-flash it.

If you haven’t done it before, let us know as there are a few bits of advice, specific cables and adapters, and procedures to follow (and also you might have to ask a dealer here nicely for the firmware).

Yes, it is an error message in the screen: Bad Eeprom. Would be grateful if I could get some tips on how to re-flash the unit.

- Do you have DSP or analogue speakers, if so, how many and what sources? Before re-flashing, try re-typing the unit to the closest match to your system, if that clears the fault, you can try re-typing again, back to your currently stored type. Instructions for re-typing on p. 63 of the 568 User Guide

- If the above doesn’t work, make sure you have the correct USB-Serial converter Wiki.

- You will need a copy of the legacy config program here.

Then you’ll need a copy of the flash upload instructions, which hopefully a friendly Hitchhiker or dealer might be able to supply if you ask. I don’t have those to hand at the moment.

Success! Firmware re-flashing and re-typing, page 69 from the manual, fixed the "Bad EEPROM" problem.
Thanks to you and help from older posts on the forum.
