Hello,

I have some old DSP33 speakers. as far as I know, all the analogue electronics works fine, but the digital boards aren't working properly, in particular the comms. I was wondering if I could simply convert them into analogue actives instead. As far as I know, the DSP33's and the M33's share a cabinet, drives and amplifiers, it's just that in the M33 the amps are connected to an analogue crossover, and in the DSP33 they are connected to a a digital board with dacs, processing etc.

I figured that if the analogue stuff is good then maybe I could remove the digital board, install an active crossover or something to basically make them plain old active speakers..

Has anyone done this before? does anyone know if it's a real challenge or maybe relatively easy? does anyone know what the innards look like. I'm hoping that the digital and analogue sections are distinct and connected by easy to understand wires that could be desoldered?

I'm not particularly handy here but I'm hoping I can fid someone local who might be able to help

Thanks
David

I have the exact same question. My 568.2MM and the Legacy Meridian program are not talking to my two DSP33. I assume the digital portion is not working.

Honestly, I never did anything with my DSP33's and they are still in a cupboard upstairs. I've currently got a pair of genelec active monitors plugged into my computer and I'm using those...
