I will send them a reminder email let's see what that brings. Apart from the problem; don't underestimate the "gain" you will have from adding a DSW. I have DSP7200SE (left, center and right) at the front which, i thought, should have enough "ump" to have a solid bass during mainly movies. But adding a DSW.2 (and later a 2nd DSW.2 to solve the isssue this thread is created for) makes a major difference, not only for movies using LFE channel but also for music. You're right about timing issues when mixing an analog sub into the mix. If you don't have a processor which is capable of handling that i wouldn't go that route..
On my setup with the trinnov Alt32 i was able to almost completely prevent the DSW.2 problem from happening. Only in some very complex movies (like oppenheimer) i hear the DSW's popping a bit. In music it never happens, even with very deep basslines. Does not alter the fact that i want to have this solved by Meridian as it is clearly a problem in the DSW family.

All,

I have upgraded both my DSW.2 to firmware v1.66 and the pops are gone! So please get your hands on this new firmware to solve this long lasting issue!

Frans

Done and fixed! At last! Shame about the complete lack of feedback to those of us that detailed the problem to them explicitly.

Great to hear! Yes, communication with Meridian is very poor for such a premium brand, i understand the "talk to the dealer" mentality but for things like this, there should be a proper communication channel. Nevertheless; there products are very good and they can fix things now it seems:-)

Finally got the DSW firmware updated and ran the film that started it all. Very happy to say it was fine. It seems the problem is sorted at last.

Can I just say thank you to everyone who responded to the original post and messaged M.
I am very grateful for your help in getting this issue rectified.
An extra thank you to Quantum Bob for your help. And to the Dealers that helped.

Nick
