the DAC in the 218 has 24/96 max resolution. I was torn between upgrading my DSP's to se or getting an 818v3 and decided the se was the way for me. Just don't expect more than 24/96 out of the 218.

Just a quick update that MQA songs are still available on Tidal when using the Node. I wasn't sure what to expect after the Tidal change in plans earlier this month, but happy to see that all of my MQA tracks are still available.

I'll go through my emails to see if I haven't deleted the reply from Tidal yet, but it is interesting that you can still get what's no longer being offered. Would you do a favor and select umm, the division bell or momentary lapse of reason, select any song and press the button showing real time rendering just to verify the music playing is indeed MQA and not FLAC? much appreciated. This is curious.

I just tried Division Bell on the Node- it is playing MQA 192.

I have a Wiim, so I also just tried that for comparison. On the Wiim I get FLAC only, no MQA.

The Node must still be able to see and access MQA material on Tidal, whereas the Wiim cannot see/access it.

Yes the BluOs app has intentionally not implemented the new Tidal HiRes API so they can still see the MQA files (but not the HiRes files).

Unfortunately it appears to be a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. All of the previously available MQA appears to be there with a non-MAX client, for now... Unfortunately the new Maggie Rogers and Taylor Swift albums do not appear to be available in MQA at all, yet they are available in FLAC as 24/96 and 24/48 respectively.

Sometimes now new music is not uploaded to Tidal as MQA but it still exists as MQA and can be bought.
Taylor Swift for example.

Can’t Roon implement a toggle for this?

Tidal are informing customers that all their MQA files will be replaced with FLAC from late July.

I would suspect that the income from MQA capable subscribers was not sufficient to cover the MQA license fees.
