I see the website says they will be demonstrating "new DSP modules" and "a selection of new audio products and software technologies".

Demonstrated for the first time will be a new âBass & Spaceâ technology that increases the sense of soundstage without the loss of impact and power that can happen in such systems, making it ideal for applications such as portable speakers where the left and right audio channels may not be optimally spaced.

I'm choosing to believe in hopeful optimism. I have been a big believer in the Meridian design philosophy.
Could this be the advancement in DSP processing from one of the leading and original developers of the technology?
One can hope.

So Meridian has fallen to a level where they are going to demonstrate soundbars. It does not bode well for the future. Meridian today is not the same as Meridian in the past.
I donât think they are really a traditional hi-fi / audio company any more, if they ever were (at least as far as making kit is concerned). What they are doing is exploiting a lot of software and audio processing knowledge and licensing this technology to a variety of companies in different markets. Producing some state of the art speakers is a great demonstration of what is possible and serves as a âshop windowâ for Meridian technology.
We should think of them as an audio technology company - producing a few great products - and making money (I hope) licensing that technology.
