Since last contributing above, I bought one second hand for about £30.00 from someone on one of the HiFi forums. I used it in my home office set up to feed into some DSP33s as I have a spare Topping DDC knocking about.

I don’t use Tidal (and am not bothered about MQA) but it does the hires Qobuz streams fine and the Radio 4 stream is also very high quality. The app is absolutely fine to use day-to-day, although it does not seem to have a very secure handshake with the Qobuz app ie if I add favourites in Qobuz they don’t quickly read across to the instance open on the Wiim app IYSWIM.

As I have noted elsewhere, I seem to have a compatibility issue with my BT home hub but I’ve been too lazy so far to read the manual or to perform some Google fu to find out if there’s a fix to what I suspect is a DHCP lease problem.

Taking VirusKiller’s recommendation, I have scored a Chromecast Audio dongle to try out and will do a bit of a shootout with the Wiim Mini when I get some time. I’ll report back.
