Hi all, I recently acquired an 818v3 from a fellow Hitchhiker and have just installed it this week. All good so far with the exception of high bit rates from my Roon server via the USB input not being passed through to the DSP7200SEs. From this post it looks like I should see 192, 176, etc on the DSP7200SE displays; I see it correctly on the 818v3, but nothing higher than 96k on the DSPs. Any advice very welcome... The 818v3 is running version 4.14 and the DSPs 3.08. Thanks, David.

DSP firmware 3.16 is the latest. If you stream through the ID41 card do you get the same result?

David,
You will only see higher than 96k with MQA material as the native rate of the digital SpeakerLink connection has a maximum rate of 96k.
The higher rates when playing MQA material are rendered by the SE speakers which display the original bit rate of the source material which is itself transported at 96k from the 813 to the speakers.
Edit: having just read the linked thread, the above may be outdated - I stand to be corrected as needed!

Hi Bruce,
Streaming through the ID41 is a little different...
If I have a 24bit 192k album in Roon, then I see 96k on the 818v3 and 96k on the DSPs.
Whereas with the same via USB I see 192k on the 818v3 and 96k on the DSPs.
Would the old DSP firmware be the issue?
Thanks, David

I have a pair of DSP7200SE's with the latest firmware connected to an 218. On higher bitrates than 96kHz, Roon samples back to 96KHz. It might be the 218, I have never tested it with other sources on the digital input on the DSP7200SE's, but I think their max is 96kHz for non MQA. On MQA the go all the way up to 352KHz.
Main: DSP8000SE< 218 < Farad Super3 TMCB < PS Audio P10. Room correction: Focus Fidelity. Second: Fostex Fe206NV2 < Audio innovations 500 valve amp < Wiim Pro + Study: DSP33 < Reviver < MS200 Server: ROCK + Tidal on NUC, fiber on 2x cisco 2960, HD-Plex LPS. Gone: DSP7200SEu, DSW, DSP5500mkI & DSP5000mkI, 508.20, 210

818v3 has 192k capable coax and SpeakerLink inputs. The 218 inputs max out at 96k.

To refine my original question... while I understand from the spec's of the 818v3 that the SpeakerLink outputs are capped at 96k, should some form of metadata be passed to the DSPs and I see the bitrate being processed by the 818v3?
The post I reference in my original question seems to indicate that...
Thanks, David.

With v3.16 in my DSP8000SE and v4.14 in my 818v3.
Via the USB input:
DSD64 material: "DSD64" in both 818v3 and DSP8000SE. 176k material: "176k in the 818v3 and "88k MHR" in the DSP8000SE. 192k material: "192k in the 818v3 and "96k MHR" in the DSP8000SE.
I was surprised.
