Hi All,

The key pieces of kit are now here for my Atmos setup (minus the cable and 250mm hole saw). Many thanks to Rick at Audio Images for supplying my 271.

I now need to connect my non speakerlink kit to the 271. Whilst the AC12 is available - having 5 of them will prove to be quite pricey and the Reviver appears to no longer be made. I have reviewed the thread here https://www.meridianunplugged.com/u...bb=showflat&Number=178875&page=1

In principle it all seems straight forward and I plan to purchase a few patch panels and make a custom box. The Lundahl 1574 transformer seems to be transformer to use.

Has anyone had any experience of making something like this on a larger scale ?

Thank you all in advance.

Hi,

I’m not sure why you need 5, as you only appear to have 5 DSP speakers. So, unless you’ve got another side pair that you haven’t mentioned, you’re after 3 AC12 units.

Hi Brian,

My understanding is that the 271 outputs per channel rather than the traditional way of daisy chaining etc. Happy to stand corrected on this.

Dave

271 can be daisy chained or home run per channel wired.

That's great to know Bruce. Many thanks

Will the daisy chain still work if it's through the AC12 ?

Hi

Sorry if it is stating the obvious but have you looked at the various configurations for the AC12 which can be found in Duncans Meridian info?

My apologies. I hadn't looked through Duncan's Meridian Info but certainly have done so now. Very informative !

I have 2 pairs of (non SL) DSPs & use 2 AC12s to interface those with my 271.

Cinema: Meridian 271, 3 x DSP640 (behind screen), 4 x DSP320 (in-ceiling), 4 x DSP3100 (surrounds), 2 x AC12 (interface). 2 x Perlisten D12s subs, Lyngdorf MP40 processor. DT 145" 2.35 AT screen. Sony VW870 projector & S-T lens, Lumagen Radiance Pro.

I may soon finally be adding a couple of DSP33's to my system to replace my passive B&W surrounds, but of course I need to connect them to my 861v8.

I've DM'd Robert.W, but in case the Revivers aren't available any more, are AC12's the only other alternative, or has anyone found / developed another solution?

I'm planning to add 1 pair for surround duties initially (5.1), and perhaps another pair later to complete the 7.1 arrangement.
However the 861v8 is located along the middle of 1 side-wall, so my preference is quite a long run of CAT5 / CAT6 to get around the back wall & across to the other side - locating whichever type of 'conversion box' that's required close to the speakers.
Luckily, power is not quite as much of a challenge!

An AC12 or Reviver(s) will work … for DIY solutions checkout this topic …

SpeakerLink used as Digital Out (XLR or SPDIF) plus COMMS and RS232

I can confirm that make for DIY was great.

I used this FS: Passive SpeakerLink to RCA Adapters, thread as an example.

The Neutrik boxes are great !

I only used a different Neutrik box, which has RJ45 CAT6A on one side, and SPDIF 75 Ohm on the other one.
