I seem to remember the M6's did indeed have a single downward firing driver driven by a class-D amp. IMHO Different types of speaker don't blend well in surround sound setups. They should have looked reasonably discrete, however.
PS The M60 was a great speaker. I sold mine to a friend fifteen years ago and they're still going strong! I agree, I use the same type of speaker as rears, these were just in a demo where the dealer didn’t have another ‘normal cabinet’ pair on hand that day. I seem to recall someone (ncpl/VK?) doing a rather good comparative review between 5Ks/M60s back in the day…
