Hi
Since my “rumour” source was right about what was going to be launched the figure of £65K might also be correct!?😁
Yes they do look awesome and no doubt are.

I did wonder if they might hit £60k, but £65k puts them in spitting distance of the DSP8000XE...

I'd be very surprised if they're north of £60k. My guess is £48 for the basic colours.

The DSP9 are £60,000 in Piano Gloss Black, and £65,000 in Select Colours. 'Standard' colour for all speakers now is just Black, white has moved to be a select colour. Rick

Beyond my reach unfortunately but a brilliant development for the lucky few.

This speaker is pretty amazing and nice to see an evolution of form.
Agree in that the communication of MDF no matter how you spin it doesn't pair well with the price tag 😆
One thing I do hope is that Meridian get a demo speaker in the hands and ears of well regarded reviewers to audition and write up reviews. To my knowledge there is not one review of the 8000XEs....
How can we expect our dealers to be successful if there is no such review to build acclaim within the industry. They no doubt have a stunning product... Would be cool to see them invest and get it out there.
Just my take.

Is it MDF or the sandwich layers they used previously?

It is MDF as that allows them to curve the cabinet the cabinet the way that it is. Also unlike Meridium the layers won't show through the paint after a number of years

You can just sand the corners? There are some excellent wood products to make speakers of. Why no head separation? If I said it looks like a suppository would I get in trouble? Allen Boothroyd it isn’t…

I'm in the camp that likes the new design. I think they look great and agree it seems like an updated take on the classic DSP6000s.
