Hi all

I am half tempted by some dsp3200 on eBay and looking at the cheapest way to get them up and running with the most capability. There is also a cheap AC12 knocking about, so my question is whether the variable digital output from a Bluesound Node, passed through the AC12, would actually vary the volume of the speakers, or do I need a separate control signal?

It seems that an MS200 would get me app control via Roon, but no IR control. Holding out for a cheap AC200 or 218 seems the best option but I wondered if there was any other options to bodge something together on the cheap?

An AC200 will provide integral IR control - while a 218 will require an additional G12 for IR control + the cost of a new/used MSR.

Even so, when using Roon with a 218, you can rely on the Meridian app on a suitable tablet/phone - without the need for G12+MSR.

If you buy a 218 I recommend a Sonos Port (which is designed to work with the 218) rather than Bluesound. Sonos control is integrated with the Meridian app.

The AC12 is unlikely to benefit you unless you buy Meridian legacy kit

Some more digging into the MS200 shows that it has IR control as well, so my F80 remote should be able to handle the volume control.

Will see if I get itchy fingers or not!

There is also an MS200 floating on eBay at a great starting price,
would make for a very nice system with both
